Recently, I won a very competitive individual contract (FCT Scientific employment stimulus) to develop my dream project at the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere, I. P. (IPMA, IP), located in the beautiful fishermen’s town of Olhão. During the project BIVALGAE, I would assess the bioremediation capacity of the co-cultivation of algae and shellfish to mitigate the effect of global change and improve the quality of seafood and the environment while promoting a blue circular economy.
The results will be available to society through participatory activities and a children’s book that will be done in partnership with the well-known illustrator Paloma Corral.
Currently, I am looking for additional funding to support my research…wish me luck!
